Those hoping to take in Paint Ontario this year will now have to wait until next year, as the popular exhibition and sale has officially wrapped up another successful season in Grand Bend.
Paint Ontario celebrated a major milestone this year, marking its 30th anniversary as one of Ontario’s top showcases for representational painters.
Hosted by the Grand Bend Art Centre, the annual event attracts artists and visitors from across the province and beyond.
Teresa Marie, founder of the Grand Bend Art Centre and curator of Paint Ontario, says the event continues to grow while helping connect people of all ages with the arts.
Marie says Paint Ontario is much more than an art gallery.
Paint Ontario serves as the main fundraiser for the Grand Bend Art Centre, a registered not-for-profit organization supported by a team of more than 60 volunteers and board members.
Money raised through the event helps fund arts and cultural programs in the community, including school music programs, pottery facilities, children’s summer camps, and grants for local arts initiatives.
The organization is always looking for volunteers according to Marie.
