Norfolk County is preparing to begin reconstruction work on the Argyle Street parking lot in Simcoe as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements in the downtown area.
Construction is scheduled to begin this week and will include asphalt removal, regrading, new pavement installation, and updated line painting.
County officials say the upgrades are intended to create a refreshed and improved parking area for residents, visitors, and downtown businesses.
Unlike some recent parking lot reconstruction projects, the Argyle Street work will be completed in phases to reduce disruption.
Only half of the parking lot will be closed at any given time, allowing the remaining portion to stay open for public parking throughout construction.
The project is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and consider alternate parking options during the construction period.
Norfolk County notes that nearby municipal parking lots, including the lot at 86 Argyle Street, remain available and may help reduce congestion while work is underway.
The reconstruction is one of several parking and infrastructure improvement projects currently taking place across the county aimed at maintaining and upgrading public facilities.
