A local business owner is combining her love of horses with her passion for helping others through a new community fundraiser supporting hospice care.
Pam Siddall, owner of R.G Wellness and Care, is organizing the first-ever Hearts & Hooves Hospice Respite Ride on Sunday, June 28th at The REACH in Clinton.
The day-long event will feature a trail ride, horseback games, live music, food, and community activities, all aimed at raising money for two organizations that provide important care and support to local families.
Siddall says the event is designed to bring people together while supporting a cause that is close to her heart.
Through her business, she provides a variety of support services, including equine companionship programs that help people dealing with grief, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other challenges.
She says horses can play a powerful role in healing and helping people build confidence, trust, and emotional well-being.
The trail ride will begin at 11 a.m. and is expected to last about two hours. Riders can choose between a scenic route or a shorter trail that remains on the property. Siddalls say the ride is suitable for all experience levels, including families and beginner riders.
Following the trail ride, participants can take part in a variety of non-competitive horseback games, including barrel racing, pole bending, and other fun equestrian activities beginning at 2 p.m.
The event will also include a complimentary barbecue for riders and live music from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Registration is required for the event.
Riders are also asked to collect at least $50 in pledges.
