People planning to run for municipal council in Huron County are being reminded about an upcoming candidate information session later this month.
The session will take place on Wednesday, June 24th at the Libro Community Hall, located at 239 Bill Fleming Drive in Clinton. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The information session is designed to help prospective candidates better understand the 2026 municipal election process and the responsibilities of elected officials.
Representatives from Ontario’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing will provide an overview of the municipal election process for candidates. Local municipal clerks will also give presentations on voter eligibility, voting methods, and how ballots are cast.
Huron County Clerk Susan Cronin will provide information about the role and structure of Huron County Council, followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.
Organizers encourage all individuals considering a run for municipal office in Huron County to attend and learn more about the election process before nominations open.
