Two Huron County residents are facing drug-related charges following an investigation by the Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit.
The investigation led officers to a residence in Goderich and involved support from the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP K-9 Unit, and Huron OPP officers.
On June 9th, police conducted traffic stops in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township and Goderich, resulting in the arrest of two individuals. Officers later executed a search warrant at a home on Gibbons Street in Goderich.
During the search, police seized a quantity of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $2,240. Officers also seized an automobile, scales, packaging materials, a money counter, cellular phones, and $5,627 in cash. The total value of the offence-related property seized was estimated at $8,300.
A 57-year-old resident of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township has been charged with possession of cocaine.
A 28-year-old Goderich resident has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking cocaine.
Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Goderich court at a later date.
Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to contact Huron OPP or Crime Stoppers.
