Families looking for a fun way to celebrate Canada Day can head to MacNaughton Park in Exeter on July 1st for a full day of activities, games, and community fun.
The Municipality of South Huron is hosting a Family Canada Day Celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with activities planned for all ages.
The day will begin with a scavenger hunt at 10 a.m., organized in partnership with the Exeter BIA. Participants will meet at MacNaughton Park before heading out along the MacNaughton-Morrison Trail to search for clues.
Children will also have the chance to get an up-close look at a South Huron Fire Department fire truck between 10 a.m. and noon and meet local firefighters.
A Kids Bike Parade will take place at 11 a.m. Organizers are encouraging children to decorate their bikes in red and white and join the parade along MacNaughton Drive. A prize will be awarded for the best-decorated bike.
Throughout the day, families can enjoy lawn games, face painting, and inflatable sports activities sponsored by Hay Communications.
Pizza and cotton candy will be available for purchase from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. while supplies last.
The celebration will wrap up with a free public swim at the Exeter and District Pool from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
