Families gathered in Exeter on Canada Day this past Wednesday to enjoy a day of activities at MacNaughton Park, as the Exeter BIA partnered with the Municipality of South Huron to bring the community together.
Caroline Hill with the Exeter BIA said the organization was excited to help bring more Canada Day celebrations back to the community.
One of the day’s most popular activities was a children’s bike parade, an idea that came from the Municipality’s recreation team.
Hill said the partnership helped create a full day of activities that encouraged residents and visitors to spend time in Exeter and enjoy everything the community has to offer.
The Canada Day celebrations are just the beginning of a busy summer for the Exeter BIA.
Hill says the BIA will host two free KidVenture Wednesdays on July 22nd and July 29th in downtown Exeter.
Hill said the events are made possible with support from local businesses, including Exeter Family Eyecare, which is sponsoring the KidVenture Wednesdays program.
She added that community support is key to making events like these successful.
Hill encourages residents to attend local events and consider volunteering with community groups to help make future celebrations even bigger.
