The race to become the next Mayor of Norfolk County continues to grow, with six candidates now officially entering the 2026 municipal election.
The most recent addition is David Finch, who filed his nomination papers on June 23. He joins Noel Haydt, Doug Brunton, Ken Hewitt, Rhyus Reeves and Keith Milner in the race for mayor.
Norfolk County residents will vote in the municipal election on Oct. 26. This year, the County will use a hybrid voting system that combines online and in-person voting. Online voting will run from Oct. 9 to Oct. 23, followed by in-person voting on Oct. 26.
Candidates can continue filing nomination papers until August 21 at 2 p.m.
Current council candidates include:
- Ward 1 (Port Rowan, Long Point, Walsingham): Greg D’Hulster
- Ward 2 (Courtland, Langton, Wyecombe): Linda Vandendriessche
- Ward 3 (Delhi, La Salette, Windham Centre): Chris Gill, Hetty Verlinden, Doug Moyaert
- Ward 4 (Vittoria, Turkey Point, Port Ryerse): Chris Van Paassen
- Ward 5 (Simcoe): Quentin Dixon, Kevin Allen, Princess Peace, Glenn Paquette
- Ward 6 (Port Dover, Renton): Pam Taylor
- Ward 7 (Waterford, Villa Nova, Wilsonville): Warren Cummings
