The Municipality of Bluewater is inviting residents and visitors to enjoy a series of free family-friendly events this summer.
The activities are part of the Blue Flag program, which promotes water safety, environmental protection, and caring for the Great Lakes.
The first event, Painting with Plants, will take place on Tuesday, July 28th, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Bayfield Branch of the Huron County Library. Participants of all ages can create watercolour paintings while learning about local fish habitats and native plants.
The second event, Paddle & Learn, is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11st, at 6 p.m. at the Blue Flag Kayak Kiosk at the River Flats. Visitors can pick up free resources and giveaways while learning about water safety and ways to protect the shoreline. A rain date is set for August 18th.
The summer will wrap up with a free outdoor movie night on Saturday, August 29th, at Pioneer Park. Families are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets to watch Moana. Gates open at 8:15 p.m., and the movie begins at 8:45 p.m.
All of the Blue Flag events are free and open to everyone.
