The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is joining road safety partners for Operation Safe Driver Week, running until July18.
The annual campaign focuses on commercial vehicle safety and encourages all drivers to make safe choices behind the wheel. Led by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, the campaign includes education and increased enforcement on Ontario roads.
During the week, officers will be watching for dangerous driving behaviours, including unsafe lane changes, following too closely, speeding, impaired driving, and other actions that put people at risk.
The OPP says commercial vehicle safety continues to be an important issue. In 2025, officers investigated 8,826 crashes involving commercial vehicles, including 77 fatal collisions that resulted in 95 deaths.
The OPP is reminding all motorists to share the road, stay alert, and drive safely.
