Construction on Main Street in Exeter is moving ahead, with another major milestone completed last week.
The Municipality of South Huron says crews have finished laying the base layer of asphalt on the west side of Main Street.
This week, workers will complete driveway ramps, raise manhole covers and prepare the west side for a traffic switch. By the middle of the week, one lane of traffic in each direction will move onto the new asphalt, allowing construction to begin on the east side of Main Street.
The municipality reminds residents that businesses remain open during construction, and access to homes and businesses will continue to be maintained as much as possible.
Drivers should expect delays and follow posted detours while work continues.
