Construction on Main Street in Exeter is moving into its next phase.
The Municipality of South Huron says work on the west side of the road has been completed, including restoration and new asphalt. Traffic has now been switched onto the newly paved west side of Main Street.
This week, crews will begin work on the east side of Main Street between Victoria Street and Wellington Street. The work will include removing the old road, installing a new watermain, and connecting water services.
One lane of traffic in each direction will remain open while construction continues.
The municipality says businesses will stay open, and access to homes and businesses will be maintained as much as possible during the project.
Drivers should expect delays and follow posted detours while work is underway. The municipality thanks residents and visitors for their patience during construction.
