A new private home in Lucan is bringing seniors, people living with dementia, and adults with developmental disabilities together in one community.
Highview Lucan officially opened to the community on August 18th, with residents expected to begin moving in this September.
The 53-suite home offers three types of living: retirement living, specialized dementia care, and supported independent living for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, and other forms of neurodiversity.
Highview says the goal is to give residents their own private space and independence while creating opportunities to connect with others.
People living with dementia will receive 24-hour support in a secure area designed specifically for their needs. Other residents will have private suites with support based on their individual routines and needs.
