The list of candidates running in the upcoming 2026 municipal election in Bluewater is now available.
There are two people running for mayor: current Mayor Paul Klopp and Tyler Hessel.
Bill Whetstone is the only candidate currently listed for deputy mayor.
There are several contested races for ward councillor.
In Bayfield Ward, Michael DeCorte and E.J. Bauer are running for councillor.
Stanley East Ward has Peter Walden and David Armstrong running.
Stanley West Ward has Greg Lamport and Brian Kellow running.
Zurich Ward has two candidates: Winona Sangster and Jason Becker.
Hay East Ward also has two candidates, Joey Groot and Megan Goss.
Brian Heagle is running for Hay West Ward councillor.
Hensall Ward has two candidates: Scott Harris and Joan Bradley.
Residents will vote for who they would like to represent them on council on October 26th. Both Bill Whetstone and Brian Heagle have officially bee acclaimed.
