The Huron County OPP is reminding residents to check local rules before using an electric scooter or other similar motorized device.
Huron County has not joined Ontario’s e-scooter pilot program. This means e-scooters and other motorized scooters are currently not allowed on public roads or sidewalks in the county.
Residents can only use these devices on private property. They are not permitted on public roads, sidewalks, trails or highways.
Police are reminding people to know the rules before buying or operating an e-scooter.
More information about Ontario’s e-scooter pilot program is available through the province. Stay tuned next week for our interview with Huron OPP Constable Craig Soldan .
