OPP is looking to the past as students head into a new school year, reminding drivers and the community to help make sure children arrive at school safely.
Constable Andrew Gamble shared some of his own memories from his school days on social media as part of a unique back-to-school safety message.
The message looks at how much things can change over the years, while emphasizing that the memories made during childhood can stick with people for a lifetime.
With another school year now underway, OPP are reminding motorists that roads around Norfolk County will become busier as school buses return to their regular routes and more children walk and cycle to school.
The goal of this message, Gamble says, is to make sure kids get to school safely so they have the opportunity to create special memories of their own.
Police are asking drivers to remain alert, slow down and watch carefully for children near schools, crosswalks and roadways.
