The River Festival is back this Sunday, September 13th.
The free, family-friendly event will run from noon until 4 p.m. at the Brussels Conservation Area. Visitors can drop in throughout the afternoon and take part in a variety of hands-on activities.
There will be plenty to explore, including a native reptile display, tree and wildflower seed giveaways, crafts, model boat building, fishing for beginners and a giant paint-by-number shoreline scene. Kids can also try their hand at fishing, with a limited amount of equipment available.
Scales Nature Park will also hold a special reptile show at 1 p.m.
The event will also give visitors a chance to learn more about local waterways, wildlife, pollinators and future restoration plans in the area.
The Brussels Leo’s Club will be hosting a BBQ fundraiser during the event.
Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy an afternoon of nature, learning and family fun.
