The Huron Chamber of Commerce has finalized a series of six events giving residents a chance to meet candidates running in the 2026 municipal election.
The Candidate Conversations events will take place across Huron County between September 9th and October 7th.
Each evening will have two parts. The first will be a moderated conversation with candidates running for Mayor, Reeve, Deputy Mayor or Deputy Reeve. These positions also represent their municipality on Huron County Council.
The second part will be a Candidate Connections meet-and-greet. All municipal council candidates are invited to take part, giving residents a chance to meet candidates, ask questions and learn more about their priorities.
The schedule begins Wednesday, September 9th in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh, followed by Goderich on September 13th. Events will also be held in Bluewater on September 28th, South Huron on September 30th, North Huron on October 6th and Huron East on October 7th.
The moderated conversations will cover a range of local and county issues. Topics could include taxes and spending, housing, roads and infrastructure, health care, emergency services, community safety, recreation, agriculture, economic development and municipal planning.
Residents can also submit questions or topics they would like candidates to discuss.
All six events are free and open to the public. No registration or Chamber membership is required.
