As part of 90.5 myFM’s 2026 Election Coverage, myFM reached out to candidates in South Huron, Bluewater, Lambton Shores and Lucan-Biddulph to hear why they believe residents should vote for them on October 26th.
Here’s what David Armstrong, running for Stanley East in Bluewater had to say.
TRANSCRIBED AUDIO:
“Hello, my name is David Armstrong. I am running for a spot on council in Bluewater, the ward of Stanley East. My past political experience were approximately 34 years ago. I was a member of Hullett Township Council before amalgamation.
My background is extremely diversified from agriculture to production management to transportation, logistics, safety and compliance, as well as I have worked for numerous government agencies.
I am now retired and live in Stanley East.
The biggest issue I think facing our community right now is cost. The world events are changing and taking place. Costs are something that is very important to every individual.
Why should an individual vote for me? I am a new face. I do have a vast experience in a number of areas and I do think I can bring forward a new perspective as to what our residents need and how our council should respond to the various challenges that lie ahead.”
