Here’s what’s going on in Exeter Grand Bend over the next 48 hours.

TODAY: Tech Time 9:30 am – 10:30 am Join at the Blyth Branch for Tech Time support to receive one-on-one help with library e-resources, your devices, and/or your email account. Lessons are limited to the technical knowledge of library staff. This is for participants that are 8 and older.

TODAY: South Huron Strides 10:00 am – 11:00 am Start your Tuesdays with a refreshing guided walk along the scenic MacNaughton-Morrison Trail. This program is open to all fitness levels, making it a great way to stay active at your own pace. Participants also have the option to try Urban Poling walking poles—an excellent way to add a gentle, full-body workout while improving stability and support. Meet at MacNaughton Park at 10:00 AM. This program runs Tuesdays from May 5th – September 29th, weather permitting.

TODAY: Public Skating (SHRC). FREE public skating at the South Huron Recreation Centre on Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM. No pre registration required, skate aids are available. Public Skating Rules:

Maintain reasonable control of your speed, course and direction. Do not skate in groups. Do not stop where you obstruct other skaters.
No speed skating, figure skating maneuvers or hockey equipment such as sticks and pucks are allowed on the ice.
Parents/Guardians must be within sight and control of their children. Do no leave children unattended.
Ice skates required – no street shoes.
Ice skates are sharp. Do not have your hands on the floor or on the ice where they can be stepped on by a blade.
Children aged 10 and under must wear a CSA-certified hockey helmet at all times. Helmets are strongly recommended for all other participants.
Maintain a proper lookout to avoid other skaters, objects, or conditions on the ice surface. Report any hazards to arena staff.
No skating while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or other control impairing substances.
Leave the ice surface when resurfacing maintenance is taking place. Keep exits clear and do not sit on the dasher boards. Before getting on the rink, look for oncoming skaters.
No food or drink on the rink surface or surrounding dasher or cap rail.
Do not carry children or items while skating.
No headphones are to be worn or use of PDA’s or cellular phones used while skating.
Do not act in a manner that may cause or contribute to injury of yourself or any other person.
Do not throw or leave objects on the rink surface.
Report any injuries or accidents to staff prior to leaving the facility.
Please respect your facility.

TOMORROW: You are invited to Coffee and Care. Jessica’s House Hospice welcomes you to a supportive space where grief is welcome and connection begins. Come enjoy coffee and meaningful conversation with others in the community. This monthly drop-in group offers a compassionate environment to share, listen, learn, or simply be present with others who understand. Second Wednesday of each month, 1:00–2:30 PM. Lucan Library. TOMORROW: Youth Badminton. Calling all youth ages 12 – 14 years! Join Wednesday evenings at the South Huron District High School (92 Gidley St East, Exeter) for our Youth Badminton Program. This program takes place on Wednesday September 9th, September 23rd and September 30th, from 5:15pm – 6:15pm. The cost is $3.00 per play (exact change required). Whether you’re brand new to badminton or already love the game, everyone is welcome. Nets and birdies are provided, please bring your own racquet.

TOMORROW: Coffee, Cards & Checkmate/ Shuffleboard. Join at the Dashwood Community Centre on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00pm – 3:30pm for Coffee, Cards & Checkmates/Shuffleboard! Whether you love Euchre, Pepper, Cribbage, Chess, Checkers, or a friendly game of shuffleboard, there’s a place for you. Enjoy coffee, great conversation, and a welcoming atmosphere where all skill levels are encouraged to join the fun.

Exeter Hawks:

The Exeter Hawks will hit the ice three times this week, visiting Thamesford Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., before hosting Port Stanley Friday at 8 p.m. and again Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the South Huron Arena.
