Students in the Avon Maitland District School Board are showing improvement in several areas of reading, writing and math.
The Education Quality and Accountability Office, or EQAO, recently released its results for the 2025-26 school year.
The results show improvement in six of the eight areas measured, with some results increasing by as much as five per cent from the previous year.
Avon Maitland students scored above the provincial average in Grade 3 reading, writing and math, as well as Grade 6 math.
Grade 6 reading and writing results were slightly below the provincial average, but the board says achievement in those areas remains high.
Grade 9 math results were also below the provincial average, but Avon Maitland students made larger gains compared to the previous year.
In Grade 10 literacy, students closed the gap and are now at the provincial average.
