The CIBC Run for the Cure returns to Simcoe this Sunday, bringing the community together in support of breast cancer research and programs.
Local organizer Gail Catherwood encouraging people across Norfolk County to get involved.
Simcoe stands out as one of the smaller communities hosting the Run for the Cure. While events are held across Canada, most take place in larger cities.
Despite its rural setting, Catherwood says Norfolk continues to show strong support year after year, with residents coming together to walk, fundraise and support those affected by breast cancer.
People who cannot attend Sunday’s event can still help by making a donation. Contributions can be made ahead of time or on the day of the run.
Registration at Lions Park, located at 75 Davis Street East, opens at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Opening ceremonies begin at 9:45 a.m., followed by both walk events at 10 a.m.
The event runs until noon and is open to anyone looking to support the cause.
