It’s Crabby Joe’s game day! The Exeter Hawks face off against Lucan tonight at 8pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.
An Exeter Hawks defenceman is enjoying his second season with the team and says the strong connection between the players is making for an exciting year.
Trey Taylor, number 21, grew up in St. Marys and says his parents introduced him to hockey at a young age.
Taylor played U18 AAA with the Huron-Perth Lakers before spending some time with the Listowel Cyclones. He then joined the Exeter Hawks last season.
Taylor says while he’s not a hometown kid, he loves playing in Exeter.
Taylor says the Hawks have also built a strong group this season, with players getting along well both on and off the ice.
He says the team is focused on continuing to improve as the season moves forward, including being more aware defensively, staying in position and working together.
For Taylor, one of the best parts of playing in Exeter is the support from the fans.
Taylor and the Hawks will be back on home ice Friday night, with the team looking to build on its start to the season.
Taylor says he is excited about what the rest of the season could bring for the team.
Go and cheer on your hometown Hawks! Come before or after the game and fuel up at Crabby Joe’s in Exeter!
