About 4,900 Hydro One customers in Lambton Shores and surrounding areas will be without power for several hours later this month.
The planned outage is scheduled for Sunday, October 25th, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will affect areas including Bosanquet, Forest, Port Franks and Thedford.
Hydro One crews will use the outage to replace aging wooden poles that support transmission lines. The work is aimed at helping prevent longer, unplanned power outages in the future.
The Municipality of Lambton Shores is encouraging residents to prepare ahead of time.
People should fully charge their phones and other devices, make sure appliances such as stoves are turned off, and consider using a battery-powered alarm clock.
Residents are also reminded to keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible to help keep food cold during the outage.
