South Huron isn’t the only Municipality to get a new Mayor after tonight’s municipal election.
Jeff Wilcox says he is ready to take on the responsibilities of being Lambton Shores’ new mayor after winning the election race.
Wilcox received 3,020 votes, defeating Incumbent Doug Cook, who received 1,781 votes. There were also 93 votes recorded as abstentions.
Wilcox says he is ready for what comes next.
With a new council set to take over in the coming weeks, Wilcox says one of the first steps will be deciding how council will move forward.
He also thanked residents for their support and for trusting him with the position.
Wilcox says he intends to work hard to show residents that their faith in him was well placed.
Joining Wilcox on Lambton Shores council for the 2026-2030 term will be Dan Sageman as deputy mayor, along with councillors Chris Vanderydt in Ward 1, Dave Maguire in Ward 2, Shawn Dickey in Ward 3, David (DJ) Pugh in Ward 4, Suzanne Shea in Ward 5, Dave Marsh in Ward 6 and Randy Shaw in Ward 7.
Maguire, Dickey and Marsh were acclaimed.
