Holy Trinity students got into the Halloween spirit while helping tackle hunger in the Norfolk community.
Students recently set up outside the Real Canadian Superstore in Simcoe for a Halloween-themed “Scare Hunger” food drive supporting St. Vincent de Paul.
The community answered the call in a big way, donating enough food to fill roughly two and a half truckloads.
Donations included cereal, coffee, Kraft Dinner, jam, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, pasta and many other non-perishable food items.
Students spent time greeting shoppers and encouraging them to do their part to help local families facing food insecurity.
Organizers thanked everyone who stopped by and contributed, saying the support from the public was amazing.
The effort gave Holy Trinity students a chance to make a difference close to home while also highlighting the ongoing need for food donations across Norfolk.
