It’s Crabby Joe’s game day! The Exeter Hawks face off against Petrolia tonight at 8pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.
Exeter Hawks forward Nate Schiedel is enjoying his third season with the team, and says one of the best parts of playing in Exeter is the people he shares the dressing room with.
Schiedel wears number 18 and plays centre. He talked myFM through his hockey journey.
Now in his third year with Exeter, Schiedel says the team has a great group of players this season. There are plenty of new faces, but he says everyone gets along and the dressing room has a great atmosphere.
He says the friendships he has made with his teammates are what he enjoys most about being part of the Hawks.
Schiedel also has the chance to play alongside his brother, Jimmy, which makes the experience even more special.
He also has plenty of praise for the Hawks fans, calling them the best in the league. Schiedel says the energy from the crowd, especially the kids cheering on Friday nights, makes home games fun to be part of.
For young hockey players hoping to one day wear a Hawks jersey, Schiedel has this advice.
The Hawks are back on home ice Friday night, taking on Petrolia in a matchup between two of the top teams. Schiedel has one message for the fans.
Go and cheer on your hometown Hawks! Come before or after the game and fuel up at Crabby Joe’s in Exeter!
