Huron County is offering three community awareness sessions to educate residents on Human Trafficking.
The Huron Youth Justice Committee is hosting these sessions so community members can learn how to respond to and support victims and their families.
Members from Victim Services, the Health Unit, and OPP have planned informative evenings that will help audience memebers better understand the emerging issue.
These presentations are open to any interested community members, although it is geared towards families and caregivers.
Human trafficking involves the recruitment, transportation or harbouring of persons for the purposes of exploitation, typically in the sex industry or for forced labour.
Presentations are scheduled for the following dates and locations:
October 10, 2018 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at F.E. Madill Secondary School
October 17, 2018 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at South Huron Secondary School
October 24, 2018 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Goderich District Collegiate Institute
