Perth South council has declared their interest in allowing a cannabis shop to be opened up in the municipality.
Councils across Ontario have until January 22nd to tell the province they are interested in having a store, if they want to receive funding.
Perth South Mayor Robert Wilhelm said they have to deal with the legalization cannabis regardless if they have a store or not.
Wilhelm said council chose to opt in to receive the provincial funding. He says he’s unsure about any possible store locations in the municpality should they be given a license in the next couple of years.
