LOCAL YOUTH COLLECTING ITEMS FOR EXETER FOOD BANK ON HALLOWEEN

A group of youth at Centralia Faith Tabernacle will be going door-to-door to collect non-perishable food items for the Exeter Food bank. Instead of the regular "trick or treat" you hear at the door, these teens will be saying "flip-a-tin" in hopes of conjuring up some goodies for those in need.

There are still a few election campaign signs up around South Huron. Officials tell myFM News candidates have a week from Election Day to take down their signs. It is part of South Huron's sign by-law which regulates the use of signs and other advertising devices within the municipality.

FLU SHOT CLINICS TAKING PLACE THROUGHOUT THE AREA

Flu shot clinics are popping up around the area, for those still looking to get vaccinated this season. The Huron County Health Unit says the public can get thier flu vaccination shot from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday night at the Royal Canadian Legion in Clinton.

CORRECTION: HURON-PERTH UNITED WAY RAISES 19% OF 2014 CAMPAIGN GOAL

The United Way Perth-Huron is 19 per cent of the way to its goal for its annual campaign. The goal for the 2014 campaign is $1,170,000 and organizers say they are well on the way to reaching it thanks to the generous support shown by the community.

LEGION MEMBERS GEARING UP FOR POPPY CAMPAIGN

If you're looking to wear a poppy, they are currently available at the Exeter Legion. While the official poppy campaign doesn't start until Friday, Poppy Chairman Bob Reynolds says because of what happened in Ottawa last week; they are making them available for residents.
