VARIOUS ITEMS STOLEN IN WEST PERTH DURING DAYTIME BREAK-IN

A daytime break-in in West Perth.
OPP were called to a home on Perth Road 168 on Wednesday (Feb. 15).
An investigation revealed that between 5 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., unknown suspects forcibly entered the home and stole a Lenova laptop, alcohol, jewellery, clothing, and a sword.

We're in for a mild week as area temperatures are expected to reach up to 9 degrees. According to Environment Canada's Meteorologist, Geoff Coulson we won't break any records but the extended streak of mild weather is unexpected.

PINERY ACTIVITIES ON FAMILY DAY

Family Day is Monday February 20th, but the Pinery Provincial Park just outside of Grand Bend has lots going on all weekend including the visitor centre being open Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 AM until 5 PM.

HAWKS LOOK TO END TROJANS SEASON TONIGHT AT HOME

The Exeter Hawks have a chance to close out their SOJHL first round playoff series against Thamesford tonight. The Hawks got back into the win column Tuesday night as they defeated the Trojans 3-2. Hawks forward Christian Petrozza added his ninth point of the playoffs in that game.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY LIBRARY FAMILY DAY FUN

Family Day is almost here and 10 of the 15 Middlesex County Library branches will be open including the Ailsa Craig, Parkhill, and Lucan branches. Each library will have unique activities but all three branches are doing giant colouring pages and will have a family story time at 10:30 AM.

LUCAN IMPAIRED DRIVER BUSTED

Another impaired driver was busted, this time on Valentine's Day in Lucan. Middlesex County OPP say they spotted a white pick up truck on Richmond Street near Roman Line and they did a traffic stop. That's when the officer noticed an alcohol smell.

BLUEWATER VIBRANCY FUND GRANT PROCESS

The Bluewater Council met for a special meeting on Wednesday to discuss what to do about money coming in the form of a vibrancy fund from Grand Bend Wind Inc. Council decided to invest 10 per cent of the funds into community grants instead of using money from ratepayers.

SNOW SQUALL WARNING IN EFFECT

Snow squalls continue this morning. The most significant snow squall is in the area between Goderich and Grand Band extending southeastwards. Roughly 15 cm per 12 hours are possible under the heaviest snow squalls. Snow squalls are expected to taper off near noon.

TEENS BUSTED STEALING BEER AFTER POLICE TRACK SNOWY FOOTPRINTS

Huron County OPP say two teens are facing charges after they were caught red handed. The teenagers were found stealing beer from a garage in Vanastra over the weekend.
