TWO NEW RESCUE TRUCKS FOR SOUTH HURON

The Municipality of South Huron will get two new rescue trucks next year. Monday night, councillors voted to approve the tender of Lafleur Custom Truck Bodies for both trucks at a cost of $363,184. One truck is designated for Huron Park and the other will go to Dashwood.

NEW LIGHTS BRIGHTEN UP TOWN HALL

New lights are helping to brighten up the South Huron Municipal office in Exeter. Lights have been added to the cenotaph thanks to the Exeter Legion and more lights are shining on the art sculpture and trees in front of town hall thanks to the South Huron Communities in Bloom Committee.

WOMAN FACES CHARGES AFTER 10 PEOPLE INJURED IN CRASH

A 42 year-old woman is facing charges after two people were airlifted to hospital in critical condition caused by a head on crash near Stratford. Two Ornge helicopters were dispatched to Embro Road near Line 26 late Sunday afternoon.

10 PEOPLE SENT TO HOSPITAL AFTER CRASH NEAR STRATFORD

A serious crash south of Stratford sent ten people to hospital over the weekend. Police say the crash happened on Perth Road 113, south of Perth County Line 26 at around 5:10p.m. Sunday, July 20th.

PLANNING UNDERWAY FOR GRAND BEND COMMUNITY CENTRE

Planning is well underway for the new Grand Bend community centre. Chair of the steering committee, Paul Wilson says the idea that began in April of 2013 has grown to be a multi-purpose and multi-tennant complex. Wilson says the project has created a buzz in the Grand Bend area.

A woman from Exeter will be taking the trip of her life to Holland thanks to the Exeter Lions club Youth Camp and Exchange Program. Katie Hartai is currently attending Carlton University in Ottawa, but volunteers for the Exeter Lions Club.

NEW FOOD SHOW TO BE FILMED IN GODERICH

A very special announcement was made in Goderich on Saturday, July 19th. Restaurant owner Kevin Morrison will be shooting a tv show called Pat and Kevin's Dine and Dash. Morrison tells myFM News that it will be based on both sides of the border. Shooting is expected to begin in the fall.

BEWARE OF HOGWEED THIS SEASON

Giant Hogweed is popping up more and more in Southwest Ontario. It typically grows to 2 or 5 metres and has even been known to get up to 7 metres. Except for it's size, it closely resembles common hogweed or garden angelica.
