Last weeks planned shutdown of the Lake Huron Primary Water Supply System went off without skipping a beat, according to officials. Crews shut down the system to repair the pipeline that provides drinking water the Municipality of South Huron.

Ottawa police are confirming a soldier shot twice at point-blank range as he stood on guard this morning at the National War Memorial has died. And they say a gunman who burst into the Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings, firing as many as 30 shots, is also dead.

A Canadian soldier standing guard at the National War Memorial in Ottawa has been shot by an unknown gunman and there are reports of gunfire inside the halls of Parliament. Ottawa police confirmed they had a call at 9:52 a.m. with a report of shots fired.
